Career

Raimar Rodrigues Machado is a labor law lawyer with a distinguished record since the 1980s.

In his work with professional institutions, he has been a member of the Federal Board of the OAB. He was chair of the National Committee on Social Rights and Diffuse and Collective Rights for the national OAB. He was Chair of the Labor Justice Committee, the Human Rights Committee, the Labor Law Advocacy Committee and the Legal Education Committee of the OAB/RS. He has also been inspector general and ombudsman general for the OAB/RS. He was director of the Department of Labor Law for the Brazilian Lawyers Institute (IAB).

He is a full member (Chair No. 42) of the Brazilian Academy of Labor Law, as well as a full member (Chair No. 3) of the Sul-Rio-Grandense Academy of Labor Law (ASRDT). He is an honorary member of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy.

He was a representative for the Federal Board of the OAB at the public hearings into Labor Reform by the National Congress and the Superior Labor Court (TST). He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the First National Competition for Labor Law Judge (TST).

He was an observer and representative for the OAB/RS at the 1988 Chilean Plebiscite (which brought an end to the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet).

He is a director of the RS Lawyers Institute (IARGS). He was a director of the Gaúcha Association of Labor Lawyers (AGETRA) and the Brazilian Association of Labor Lawyers (ABRAT).

He was a Masters and Doctorate professor at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC).
