Career
José Augusto Medeiros is a lawyer, a Doctor of Economic Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (FD-USP) and a visiting researcher at SciencesPo Law School (Paris).
He operates in the areas of Constitutional, Economic, Business and Competition Law and has extensive experience of preparing defenses, negotiating agreements and providing representation in administrative sanctions processes. He also has outstanding expertise in creating business structures in regulated sectors and establishing, monitoring and reviewing compliance programs and sustainability strategies (ESG).
He is a consultant who specializes in policy and advocacy. He manages discussions and mediation processes with the decision-making authorities, and also works to identify and manage the risks related to corporate governance and social, political and environmental issues.
He has dedicated himself to writing articles on Economic Law and Political Economics, the History of Public Law, Constitutional Law, Economic-Industrial Development and Competition, and his articles have been published in renowned domestic and international journals.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Economic Competition Law, Constitutional Law, Public Services and Industry Regulation. He is a researcher, linked to projects at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Law School of the University of São Paulo (FD-USP) and the University of Brasília (UnB).
He worked on the Chamber of Energy and regulatory matters for the Industry Federation of Santa Catarina (FIESC), as well as helping to create the Legislative Agenda for the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
